Cheshire Lines footpath/cycleway/bridleway - a 5 mile traffic free route
from Aintree to Ainsdale, this path runs right through the farm. 10
minutes walk away is the Leeds-Liverpool canal - this is a lovely
section of the canal through farmland and past some great local pubs.
Farmer Ted's Farm Park is on the neighbouring farm and an ideal place
for young children, with tractor rides, animals and play areas (
www.farmerteds.com ). And if you
want to enjoy a short walk and a drink, then there is the Scotch Piper,
the oldest pub in Lancashire, at the top of the road or just next to it
Lydiate Hall Farm Tea Shop. For those who are interested in
aromatherapy, then Phytobotanica, just two miles away is well worth a
visit, with it's own lavender farm and shop selling essential oils, some of
which are produced on the farm. It also has a fishing lake next door.
